I hope to get my new OK Trident 13 angler in the next month but in the mean time I am getting all the accessories now.  My question for now is what type of crates are you all using behind your seat?  I will be setting my OK up for fly fishing if that makes any difference.  Also how do you strap it down?  If it was 20 years ago I would probably use an old milk crate but those things are hard to find these days, I remember when they use to stack the things 10 high on the outside of grocery stores.

Thanks
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Milk Crates are still the best. Check out the Container store online to order some at a fair price. http://www.containerstore.com/shop/closet/cubesBins?productId=10000531

my .02 cents.

I recommend getting one of those orange marine boxes instead of a milk crate, especially if you plan to flyfish...less stuff to get in the way. Plus, it'll fit perfectly in the area behind your seat, leaving the entire tankwell clear for fish, icechest, waterballoon launcher, hitchhikers, etc.

+1. I love my plano box. Waterproof storage w/o a drybag. It's like adding a hatch to your boat. I attach mine with two padeyes I screwed to the sides of the box, and two corresponding clips on either side of the tankwell.

Another +1. I had a milk crate at first, and carried a lot of stuff on the water. You know what the downside was? I had too much stuff on the water!

Make no mistake, I am a gear whore, but the longer I have been doing this, the less I carry on the water. Even my Plano box is half empty these days. IMHO, the plano box with a few rod holders attached should be more than enough for 99% of trips OTW.

I really like the waterproof Plano box idea, that way stuff will also stay dry when going through the surf.  Thanks for the help everyone, much appreciated.

I have both a milk crate and the plano tackle box. I just use whats needed depending on the type of fishing I do.

Keep an eye out at your strip mall's dumpster.  I see milk crates around and in them all the time.  That's were I got mine.

That's my yellow OK T-13 with the Plano and another ncka'r with a crate next.  I got 2" PVC and made my own rod holders. This was at SWS during the RF opener.

+1 on the Orange Plano Box, fits nicely inside the first well; but make sure you limber up before getting in the boat, takes a little bit of stretching to reach around a get things.

+0.5 on the crate :smt044; will fit right behind the plano box in the first well if you need extra storage .

I gotta give it to OK for there thoughtful deck layouts. The Plano box seems almost like a must if you are going to paddle an OK otherwise you have a long stretch to get to your storage.

Milk crates and plano boxes are sooooo 5 years ago  :smt003

Seriously, the nicest feature on the Trident series by far is the rod pod.  Keep a small tackle tray in.....um.....that litlle tackle tray holder, tray thing, leave the tankwell free your piles of fish.

the new trident series does not include that little tray, you would have to find something to fit in there

Plus, they will not work in conjuction with the Trident Modular Rod Pod; the new modular cover sits deeper inside the hatch.

Thanks for the nice close up photo G-Whiz, it looks like that Plano fits nice a nd snug.

Where is SWS, I am not familiar with the intials for the ocean locations.  The only ocean fishing I have done up here is from the surf in places like Stinson and Kehoe.  I know once someoneo posts the name I will recognize it.

Thanks everyone.

SWS means Stillwater Cove South inside Pebble Beach in Carmel.  Type: "stillwater cove, carmel ca" in Google Maps.
