What a fun time! It was great camping, great weather, good fishing and amazing fellowship up there.
One of my favorite things about kayak fishing are the breed of people that fish on them next to me.  They are happy, independent, confident, focused, nature loving, and really would rather be no where else in the world but right there, hip level over a kelp patty throwing and iron or plastic.
Most of my lifetime friends have been people I have met from all over the state who happened to be dragging their kayaks down to the sea the same time as me.  :smt006
At any rate, It was a pleasure for sure.
Back in the day we were so closed lip about our favorite areas (even though the areas spanned for hundreds of miles) for fear of a massive onslaught of plastic taking over the seas.  Today some still are fearful as the sport grows but the reality is kayak fishing the open ocean attracts a hungered, driven few that otherwise would have been hang gliding or something crazier.  :smt003
Now that the MLPA's attempt to shrink our hunting ground, I hope and believe the hearty few that still ocean kayak fish will be treating the new guard of the plastic navy with a "high paddle" on the water and proper guidance. *IF you see a newer guy launching without a hatch cover in 49 degree water, hide his paddle. :smt011
Thanks for the great time and the invite Ryan and JK.
I hope to put together some good youtube footage this season for y'all.
Tight lines.  :beer1
Ps.  I only fish obvious land marks during tournament play! :smt044  The rest is kept close to the chest. :smt002

I am sending you out as sheep among wolves.

Bravo, Bob!  Thank you very much for saying that so well.  That's the spirit I will continue to support in our sport.   :smt001

Well stated Bobby.

The reason for these tournaments our really not for the money or the glory its about getting out there with a large group of guys and we did just that.

We had 40 boats out there on Sunday and it was a blast.

Hope that some of the members on this site can join in on some of our events and camp-outs with us.

P.S. Didn't know Brendan had the same site/domain name(when he had his guide service) that I am helping run now, and he is not part of our site and will not be a part of running the site in the future.
Our missions are completly different.
His was too make money guiding the BS area which I can see where that went really quick.
We dont plan on having guides not at least in the near future and heck if I did make a dime or two Id spend it on a new reel or rod or lures anyway.
The Mission if you will is the same as NCKA and that is to bring the brotherhood together and have a great time OTW.

In no way is CCKF a competition to NCKA as our any of the other sites (KSF, LJKF, BT, WCH, BD, BWE) the list can go on and on. IMO they our all there for a reason and that is to help the Local fishing community. Last year we lost our what was sorta like NCKA of the central coast and started this one. We don't see this site growing to anything this large. We are a small community for the most part with the population in our county what a lot of you have in your city.

As for the debates with the former member on here they our opinions and everyone is in titled to one. All tho some got way out of hand and inappropriate.

Tight Lines to all, Hope we all can have a safe and great season.
Ryan

Nice derby report and pics.  Congrats Bob!

I wanna fish Cambria one of these days.

We should embrace new and old kayak fishing sites everywhere, since we all share a common passion.  We can all learn from each other and local sites just seem to do a better job of catering to local needs.
