Looks like yet another awesome event from Eric/Yakhopper!  :smt002  Sorry I couldn't make it, have some issues I need to deal with.  Excellent report and pictures from all that posted made up for it  :smt003  Glad the weather was fair and some nice chunky bass were caught.  Not much of a surprise on 1st place though  :smt044

Great event Eric!
Clear Lake 2011 was my first camping trip with the NCKA.
The company was awesome, rode up with Ashley and Naoaki, and pitched my tent Sat. in lite winds and a cool evening.
Intended to fish Sat. afternoon and Sat. nite but, after a couple of beers it was out of the question.
Got up early on Sun. and fumbled around setting up the yak.
Ended launching around 8:30 i think.
Fished close to docks and shore the entire time, didn't venture too far from Edgewater.
Drifted minnows on a carolina rig, fly lined, on a bobber, with a jig head.
Tossed a Senko to the banks, dunked a nitecrawler then finished off throwing a clouser with the 8 wt.
Never got a solid hookset all morning! :smt013
Guess I just never got my minnow in front of a hungry bass :smt010
Got in and enjoyed the perfect weather, hotdogs, Brian G's homebrew, and great fishing BS.
Congrats to all the top placers, and all that caught fish!
Bird, you are the bass master! Why I didn't follow you around the last couple of times I've been fishing with is beyond me.
Rockfish, you deserve that huge Crappie after that long paddle to SP.
Ashley and Naoaki, thanks for putting up with my skunk whining's on the drive home :smt003
Can't wait to get back to Clear Lake and have another chance at a LMB

Linda and I had a great time!

Thanks to Yakhopper for being such a great host (Linda and I have each called 2 Fisherman's WH locations to thank them).  Also, thank you Pam and Dave for the company and minnows.

Thanks to Yakhopper and Fisherman's Wherehouse for putting on a super fun event.  The weather was beautiful, some fish were caught, and most importantly a good time was had by all. Can't wait for the ARW event!

Anyone go into the campground to see the condition the campsites are in?  I called reserve america and they say the campgrounds are open.  I am wondering if it's a mud bowl.

Spinal tap---the word was that you had to pay to even go in and look.  So as far as I know there were no takers from our group.  Your guess is as good as anybody's as to the condition of the campsite at SP>------Jeff

I took the liberty on checking it, looks like it recede faster and and dried up quickly, there are still bad area such as Cole Creek and but Kelsey Creek is much better but if you can reserve in Upper and Lower Bay View will be perfect, You have to pay $8.00 bucks just to check it, Since I am planning to go Saturday I had to check it...

I think Kelsey Creek is the only arm that is open to reservations (or even camping).  I'd still like to go, but I just don't want the kids to be running in mud and tracking it into the sleeping/living areas.
