I need to get some sinking worms. Don't need color advice. I just want to know if there are makes/models you all use? The ones I had didn't seem to sink all that fast. I'd like something I can texas/carolina/whacky rig.

Wish I had a solid answer for you.  I know senkos sink, but not fast.  Roboworm makes a few that sink, but not all.  I believe Zoom also makes some that sink.  Also check Strike King and Berkley.

I do have a question though, why do you need sinking worms and why must they sink fast.  I haven't bought worms in such a long time that I guess that floating wasn't all that common or important back then, I dunno.

Why isn't color important.  Do you already have that figured out?  Do tell! :smt003

You could always wait until Saturday and bum some off people that are catching. :smt044  Wait until Sunday to mooch and you may get the California Howdy!  :smt005

I was wondering the same thing. If your're texas or carolina rigging, isn''t the weight gonna keep it down? And doesnt the slow wiggly descent entice the Bass to a feeding frenzy? I would try those fat, salt impregnated worms, I think it's zoom or robo worm, I love me some robo worms.  GOOD LUCK

Come join me at Mel Cotton's tomorrow around 7:30.  My father-in-law has about $80 in store credit he's gifting his son and myself and we'll be gearing up.  Maybe we can learn a thing or two.

Eric - lots of options but I always carry Senkos (4", 5", 6") in a few basic colors for tex/car/wacky rigs, and Roboworms (4",6") in a few basic colors for drop-shotting.

Yup, that basically details my selection also.  Senkos are so stinking versatile, it's unbelievable.

Tonight I might pick up a package of trick worms and ironically, floating worms, to use on shaky heads.  Other than that, maybe replenish some hooks and weights and call it good.

sorry yeah that was a bad question. I guess I am looking for a worm that will sink fairly quickly when rigged weedless w/o weight.  The ones I used at berry took FOREVER to sink and they were so light I had a hard time telling if they were on the bottom. Seems like senkos are the perfered flavor!

I first started fishing worms in wacky style from the shore and had some good results.  When I tried it from the yak, not so good.  :smt012  Problem was that any movement from the yak would raise the worm.  Since i've been drop-shooting mostly now from the yak, that hasn't been a problem  :smt002  They do make a weight that will help for wacky riggs, but if you want weightless, not sure how to help.

Al thanks...that may be the issue. hence the search for a "heavy" worm that I can rig weightless

Yep, Senkos (and look-a-likes) are the ticket.

Drag them off the edge of weed mats -- she'll be waiting for you.

Most hits on the fall. Still a few "jiggling" them on the bottom.

Caught one this weekend doing I-don't-know-what while trying to avoid PB wakes, but the little spot liked it.

And last year/this I discovered just dragging them behind the yak (on the bottom) while I was drifting (very slowly) and drinking coffee  :smt003  ...  works like a charm!

Heh, yeah I got one @ Berry after I had dropped my rod in the rod holder to pickup my paddle.  Never happened with a worm before for me!

Jeez did you guys just start fishing? Dude, just get some of those nail weights that you insert into the worm/plastic. Go search Google for "nail weights" and you'll see what I'm talking about. Either that or get some weighted hooks (if you want the plastic to sink a certain way). I prefer the weighted hooks. Although...knowing you...you could easily make some nail weights from uhhh nails.
