Headed up to Folsom, launched at GB about 2 pm and fished till dusk.  Wind was blowing about 5-10 kt and then laid down flat around 5:30 pm.  Marked alot of fish between 20-50 ft, most suspending 4-5 ft off bottom.  Water was cold - 47F. Only one bite - landed a 17" spotted bass around 5:45.  Looking forward to the weather and water warming up.

Entertained all late afternoon by 4 guys getting their 4WDs stuck in the rocks and ruts. Left at dark and they were trying to tow one out of the rocks by headlight.

Met Ron, a fishsniffer who was fishing on a float tube.  Got to talking and he said he wanted to get a kayak so I let him know about the site and said I'd post a report.  Hope you make it to the site Ron, it was good talking with you - John

Looks like the bass have been eating well up there. That's a fatty John. Glad you had some entertainment since the fishing was slow.

John, it sounds like the bite was just as tough in your neck of the woods as over here.
Glad you boated one inspite of the tough conditions! jim

John, good to see you caught something.  Looks like the bite is still real slow. I've been out there a couple of other times for no fish, but did have one day I caught two and i thought the fishing was going to pick up. I'm usually getting them this time of year.  Maybe they are not in that area of Folsom.  I usually fish the 5% area this time of year.  Thanks for the info on this site.  I'm going to be checking often nos.  This is a really cool site.  It will be a while before i can get a yak but this site is going to keep me motivated.  No doubt I'll see you at Folsom. Thanks, Ron

Nice fish. I haven't been out in a while but the word out there is brown/orange football jig with either cinnamon or green pumpkin trailer or brown pork trailer. Hoping to get out soon but busy with work and not complaining about that.

Tight lines~!

John, awesome job of the fatty spot on your only bite! :D

Ron, welcome to NCKA! No worries about not owning a kayak, eventually you'll own one yourself ;) In the meantime, there are many who'd be happy to take ya out including myself :)

Looking forward to hitting the waters together!
