Gaper Clams 2/17 Thursday UPDATE! not 2/24. Sorry for the mix up on the dates

This is too tempting.  I probably won't be able to bring a yak... any chance of getting a ride over to the clamming grounds?  I'll make it up by being a gold/clam digger!

I got a single seater SOT only but I heard it's only a 15 min paddle to the sandbar. If anybody in the group is willing to lend a yak while they are digging, I can tow that yak and get you.

Any taker?

15 minutes?  I thought it was shorter than that.  I'll try to make it w/my yak after work.

It's so close you can even walk and swim to it...but I would not recommend it...
show up and we will get you on the other side..I don't know about coming back though.. jk!

Too bad I can't crab w/y'all... been wanting to hit up Doran.  Be safe and catch some jumbos!

  ~3 at Lawson's with yak and beer in hand.  I'm going to bring a slurp gun and hope to score some bait too.

I've got the crabbing part down, I can do that no problem.  The clamming, I need to know what to bring.  Shovel (is there a preferred kind?), Clam Tube, bucket, bowl for scooping sand?  Anything else I should bring for clamming?

WASABE and soy sauce! Check out last year's report that had a sushi bar, nori, sashimi and the works!

My bad, I had already asked that question with my first post.  Hamchi, are you coming?  Do you have to pay for parking at Doran and at Lawsons?  Where exactly are we meeting at in the morning at Doran?  I've never been there, looked at it on Google Earth a bunch though and drove by it on my way up the sonoma coast. 

I will be patroling the general area, and might be able to stop by and say hi if I am.  Good luck guys, take some good pictures and can't wait for the report!
