Yes...last year was AMAZING and I am hopeful that this year will be even better!!!

We will post up details SOON with a course for the paddle, how much raffle tickets will be, and exactly where the proceeds will go...

Here is the thread that describes last years event, and even though the venue and details may be  different this year, the concept remains the same!!

Proud to be a part of this.

Sincerely,

Jim

Please post more details!!!

This year's PIF event will be @ Del Monte Beach in Monterey.  That's the beach near MBK and the Wharf. We chose this venue because it will allow us to do everything in 1 place: parking, paddling, potlucking, and partying! (as opposed to last year's venue) And some would argue that there is also better fishing at the new location :~)

The route for the Paddle will go from Del Monte Beach to the red Mile Buoy, to the yellow weather buoy (in front of the Seaside Beach Hotel), and back to the beach. But we're still trying to iron a few things out. The route may be reversed depending on the wind & swell. Here's a temporary map to get an idea of the paddle route. It is approx 3 miles.

The tentative schedule is below:
--9am Launch and paddle the designated route
--12pm Begin the Potluck
--2pm Raffle time! Let's try to beat last year's total contributions of $6839!!! (this amount still blows me away...it's something we can ALL be proud of!)

If you would like more info or if you have a donation for the raffle, please contact one of the PIF Committee members (me, Alain, Andy, Big Jim, Porky, or Stoggie). I will compile a list of Raffle prizes and post it here. Last year's prizes were incredible and there were SO MANY prizes!
You can also send me a msg if you have questions about where to stay locally if you plan to make a vacation out of it.

Thanks, and Paddle On!

Great job,
You guys are alright for a bunch of A-Hulls :smt005
Couple questions:
1. will there still be a half way point for shots on the water :smt007
2. If Jim gets too excited do we have to shake hands and hug in public :smt044
3. With only 3 points on the coarse how will you make that great
Monopoly board you had last year :smt003 :smt005 :smt044

See Ya There,

No issues with holding the raffle on the beach? I remember there was last year, for some reason, although the raffle was allowed to go forward.

Rey,

We need lots of help, specially with getting donations rolling in. Just like last year it is going to take everyone to make this happen! Thanks for asking!

Its been a busy year for most, so all the help we can get the better!
