I would like to start off and say, THANK YOU!!!

BigJim invited me to go spearfishing with the boys, so I tagged along.  Driving down the 17mile drive, I looked out into the ocean, and sure enough as predicted 9ft swells. (shitting bricks at this time)  Arrived at 8am by the cove, and Jim was already suited up (he was there at 6:30) LOL.  Met up with Daniel, Andy (+chihuahua) and Joe.  We all geared up, took our yaks down to the beach, Andy with walking pneumonia manned the BBQ and Beer! (Thanks!)

Jim was ansy, and took off running like a chicken with no head... and said for us to meet him around the bend.  I look out and see every 15secs 5foot wave crashing out by the far rocks.  Joe then suggests, since Daniel and I are newbies that we just stick to the kelp in the cove.  1ft swells, 10ft vis down with sediment.  I couldn't agree more, LOL sorry Jim.  I hand Andy my radio, since Daniel had his, and Jim had his with him (can't leave w/o it!)

Daniel and I, follow Joe out to the kelp area, and tie off the kayaks.  We all jump in, and Joe shoots for the bottom.  I sit and watch Daniel for a few, since it was his second time in the water, then shoot to the bottom.
First few dives down, all I see is sand, mindset was already like... shit I am going empty handed.  I see Joe and he already has shot his fish.  Then I say to myself.. "I better die trying, or I won't hear the end of it from my wife"

I swim a little closer to where Joe was, there were more rocks below and sit for a few seconds.  Starring at a rock I see movement right in front of me.  4ft away, I shoot my FIRST FISH!!! YAHOOOO!OO!O!O!O Nice size Grassie.  I failed 2 other attempts after that, but still stoked for the one fish I got thinking, " whew, I won't get ripped on by my wife tonight, HAHAHAHA"

I see Daniel take a couple of dives, then he is sitting on his yak yelling over.  I look up and he says his fin came off, Joe makes a quick dive and retrieves it.  After that we move locations 2-3 times, it got alittle surgy.  Daniel headed back in, and I followed.  Joe stuck it out a couple more dives.

Get back to the beach, shower, change clothes and fire up the barby.  For lunch we had marinated chicken, korean ribs, sausage links, wraps, beer, soda, bagels, grilled peppers w/ cheese, etc.. etc... etc... we had a buffet table.  Passerby had stopped to sample our food buffet line.  HAHAHAHHA

Jim comes back in and makes a safe landing.  Jim lands his limit, Joe lands 7ish, I have my one, and for Daniel, it was more about being relaxed in the water and understanding his gear.  (you next Daniel!!)

Unfortunately, I didnt get video because of the vis not be that good, if its hard to see w/o a camera, then there is pretty much not a shot.  So my camera just sat in the kayak.  Luckily Andy had his on shore to take evidence of the event.

After a few beers, I was able to catch the nipple sucking event.  My only picture I was able to get.  Also a shot of the cooked fish!

Andy, let me know if you need software help for your computer, I can hook you up there.  Wrong section... I consider it kayak fishing.. LOL.  My bad, if a moderator could move it to the right section, much appreciated.

It was great meeting you Chaeki!!

Had a great time yesterday...I took off first from the beach and told the guys to meet me over by a side beach...had to time the breakers between the island and the shore to sneak over...totally doable, but maybe a little intimidating looking cuz the rest of the guys opted not to join me...

Chaeki and dpshim were with Joe Bloodbath so I knew they were in good hands. Andy stayed on shore and manned the grill and guarded the beer cooler.   :smt003 :smt004

The swells were way too big where I was at to anchor up so beached the yak and kicked out to my spot...vis was nice but super surgy and no suspended fish...every one I found was hunkered down in a hole.

Worked from 5-25 feet and put together a nice stringer of 9 rockies and one cabbie that I stoned from above right between the eyes...

More fish than I usually take, but wanted to stoke my buddy  and Team Mooch member Miguel out since he was taking us to the airport at 6am!! He has 4 kids so the limit of RF will be consumed today by him and his family!!!

Back at the beach we grilled up a ton of food and drank a ton of beer...love hanging out at that place!!

Andy and Joe came back to my place to clean fish and watch MNF...WHO DAT!!

The boys got some good pics and vid of me making a nice landing on the yak...  :smt005 :smt005

Congrats again Chaeki...super stoked for you bro!!!

GOOD TIMES!!!

Here are the pics I got...My fish are out on the beach and Joe BloodBath's are on the table!!  Stoned cabbie is mine!!
