I just got back from Bahia de los Angeles, Baja, Mexico. 3 of us went out fishing just before the Baja 1000 ran through town. We caught about 15 white sea bass, black sea bass, and yellowtails. All were in the 30 to 40 pound range! Alfredo Diaz was the guide and cost was about $250 for the day. He can take up to 7 people in his super ponga.1 person or seven the price is the same and we use all his gear. I'll try to post pics later.

Working on the pics, we had a fire in the garage Thanksgiving morning :smt010 and are a little disorganized right now. We have a home in the Rincon Bay area, rustic but totally killer. We do lots of offroad riding, kayak fishing, clamming, and lots of margaritas and cervezas. You can even swim with dolphins and 40ft whale sharks! No kidding, they even encourage it! We drive down staying in Ensenada the first night(about 12 hr from here) and then down to BOLA(8hr).NEVER drive at night!
There is camping on the beach in and around town and modest little motels. Some motels include kayaks in the price. I think you can GOOGLE Bahia de los Angeles,Baja Mexico and see pics and get fishing reports. Alfredo Diaz(casa Diaz) is the man when you want a great fishing trip with lots of fun! We fish until our arms can't take it anymore, then "freddy" fillets while you can drive the boat back to the beach, seriously! We go twice a year and have never been dissapointed.Hasta luego,Brian :smt006

Alfredo would probably tow out kayaks, currents and wind are big issues in the sea of cortez, I would have to ask him next time we go. We bring back almost everything we catch except what we eat while we're down there. Freddy freezes everything after he fillets it and keeps it at his house in town and we pick it up as we leave for home.At the border we tell them we have some frozen fish and they just let us pass on thru. Never even been asked if we have a licence(MEX) while fishing or crossing the border. This trip we brought back about 15 gallon bags with 3 large fillets in each bag. The real issues are if you're involved with smuggeling drugs or guns  :smt011.Hope that helps.
I could go on and on about how cool the place is but.......

thanks for sharing brian..
I am sure you got everyones interest in this post...so this guy Sr. Diaz how do we look him up?

do you reccommend just renting kayaks down there vs lugging our own gear?
