It should happen. But I think he has 'legend' and 'greatest LB in history' status so I think he's gonna get way more slack.....But I do agree he should go...Keep sucking 9ers. So we can draft Luck in the 1st round.

Saw Luck yesterday at the Big Game.  Totally impressed.  I think Buffalo will probably end up with him.  Yeah Mike should go bye bye now.

I'll admit that way back in '07 I was calling for Singletary to replace Nolan and I got what I wished for but I didn't think it would be this bad.  Turns out he is a pretty good motivator but terrible with the X's and O's.  And I agree with the consensus that he should go, but EWB is probably right, he'll get way more slack than he should get.

Don't know that I want Luck though.  Traditionally, sophomore QBs haven't done well.  For his sake, I hope he stays another year.  And if he does come out, I doubt Buffalo will take him because they've got a pretty good one themselves - Fitzpatrick is a stud!!!

He is a 1 dimensional motivator which only works if you win. sloppy ass tackles today they look like they have given up on Mike.

Erickson, Nolan, Singletary....time to get a proven winner ...Gruden.
Though Harbaugh is interesting, but I think they should go with a proven winner if they can get one......like Gruden.

From what I have seen of Luck, he looks like the real deal, definitely reminds me of Elway - big, fast, strong arm.  Also plays in a pro style offense, so he should do well in the NFL if he doesn't end up on a doormat and get destroyed before he gets a decent team around him.  Would like to see him on the Niners.

Singletary "greatest LB in history"?  Not even close. He was a great LB, but not as good as LT or Lambert, to name a few.

Honestly, it doesn't matter if they release him now or after the season. Because if they get rid of him now, they sure as sh!t aren't going to recruit a top-notch coach midseason. If they are going to target a real coach, the courting will happen in the offseason (no way Gruden or any other quality coach would commit midseason, as opposed to having a whole bevy of teams competing for their services in the offseason).
I'm so disappointed in the Niners, and Coach Sing. I still respect him because I appreciate his values etc. But, as a coach in  the NFL...not so much!
But hey, now my Sundays are free again...I'm not watching another quarter of this conservative-boring-uninspired-emotionless-trainwreck-bs.
My wishlist in order: Gruden, Cowher, Billick, Harbaugh, Mooch (no, not OUR Mooch but the guy they should've retained back in 2002...why not?).
At first, when I heard Childress was fired today I thought "good, that's what he deserves!" But then I realized...Minnesota will be courting these same candidates the Niners want! Crap!

It all starts at the top and I have doubts whether things will change once they get rid of dingleberry.

Here's an interesting article that I read awhile back and little has changed since.
