Thinking about doing an early morning run for crabs on Thanksgiving.  The hope is to get on the water by 6:45 AM and off the water by 11:00 AM with a few crabs to prepare for Thanksgiving dinner.  Depending on the WX I would consider a Thanksgiving eve run for crabs as well.

I was considering the same thing, just bought my first kayak, and have had a ring net and trap laying around that I've been dying to try out. I can't quite afford the fish finder yet, so do you guys know of a launch near some good, consistent ocean floor, i.e. somewhere I won't be at a huge disadvantage not having a FF?

Thanks!

HMB would meet that definition...it goes down to about 40' but is pretty consistent.  near the jetty its more like 20', the further you go the deeper it gets. its also about an easy a launch as there is.

WX is looking pretty good for Wednesday and Thursday except for the wind.  Wind is a little less on Wednesday.  I would also be interested in dropping on Wednesday night depending on the time.

I can only be at HMB at 10pm Wed or later. What time do you have in mind?

10 PM or later sounds good to me.  Never done a night outing on my kayak so it should be interesting.  Why don't we set it up tentatively for 10 PM Wednesday night.  I will post final instructions on Monday evening.
