Definitly, I've got a bunch of recipes I've been wanting to try.  Its great to not have to crab fish off piers and use snares off jetties, this is waaay better!

I'll be with ya on Tuesday morning, I think I'm going to try and launch at HMB Kayaks, where I got to briefly meet you while I was coming in and you were heading out.  When and where are you going to launch?  I think I'm gonna soak my traps for six hours or so.

Dude, you're the reason I want to soak my pots longer.  Looking at all those big crabs you got, I was hopeful for the same.  I ended up with three nice dungies and one big red but threw back about thirty little ones.  My pots were only out for about an hour, though.  I figure the longer soak times will allow the little crabs to escape on their own leaving me with a basket full of lunkers!  HMB has really spoiled me--back in the day I used to get excited about catching those little crabs off of the SF muni pier.

I figure We can meet at the same place, I figure around 7am or so.  I'm pretty open, so if you have a schedule to meet let me know and I'll work with that.

Right on Laguna, Ill see ya there at 7.  Im telling you up front though, its gonna be a no BS crab mission for me.  Im gonna get out there, drop my traps and get the hell back in the harbor.   :puke: Then I'll probably hang in the parking lot and regain my composure then maybe see about some Surf Perch?  I think Im gonna let my traps soak for at least 6hrs.

Looking at this, this is not that bad!  We had 6.1 friday afternoon and 4.9 in the evening.  If anything, this is better for thurs-fri.

Im gonna paddle to the mouth of the harbor tomorrow and then I'll make my final decision whether or not Im gonna go out and drop traps.  I dont want to get in any trouble out there in too big of swells.  Anything bigger than Saturday I'm not sure I feel comfortable with.  I hope thats ok with you Laguna.  I do know that I feel more comfortable battling swells during the day than at night!

No problem. I'll be doing the same.  It looks like it's gonna be bigger than Saturday, but the wind will be down.

chaeki, I think tide tables are more important when paddling inside the bay.  Out in open water tides are less of a factor.  This is what you really want to look at:

We had 8' swells on Saturday, and I think the winds were 10mph.  Looks like 10' swells for Tuesday, but the wind is down to 5mph.

Be careful out there guys.  Tuesday to Thurs looks bad even for small boats.  Looks like Friday is better for kayaking.
