Thanks for checking in Alistair! I've always wanted to paddle a Macski because they're built for rough surf launches (from what I've seen/heard) and we do a lot of that here in Norcal. Do you know if there are any local retailers where we can check em out in person?

The Kingfisher was designed for rough surf launches!! And this is where it truly excels.
They aren't in your local retailers, but I could ship you a demo craft for the members of the Norcal community to try out. If there is someone on the forum that would be willing to coordinate it. If anybody enjoys the demo craft and wants to get one, we could ship them one direct from the factory. Would certainly work out cheaper than buying through the local retailer.

As one of the admins here, I'd be happy to coordinate it.  Let's take it to PM.

-Allen

Awesome Allen!!

Let me know how it works out!!

Jim

Dave Batt definatley has one of these, not sure which model tho.   Nice looking boat!   Has a nice little built in sort of skeg on the back of it that looks like it would make it track pretty well.

Too bad I'm nowhere nearby, but 55lbs (same as my P15) and the center hatch look like great assets to me. I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's reviews!

Jay, maybe one will show up in your neck of the woods.

I chatted up Mr Macski and here's the plan (still to be confirmed).  He'll ship 2 kayaks out for demo purposes.  Through 2011 we'll loosely hand these off between members and try to make sure they appear at events and gatherings.  One is intended to make its way up to the NW for NWKA members.  That'll be a quite the trip and sequence of handoffs!!  The other will circle around NorCal.  At the end of 2011, they'll become prizes for the 2011 AOTY.

Thanks Alistair & Macski! I hope to splash some blood on that puppy soon. Who knows, maybe it'll outperform my current stable of yaks and I'll have to get one. ...anything to stick it to those darn Hobie jerks lol!

Awe my blaar! Ja nee ek is somma in my noppies dat van die boote hiernatoe kom! Ek skiem die souties gaan dit smaak.

My first watercraft was a Macski "Juice" that I won in a comp at Checkers in Plumstead, decades ago.
Hey guys, just so you know, Macski is not a new company. They have been building watercraft for around 30 years and have a great reputation in SA.

Alistar, Jy moet die donderse groot geelbekke(Eintlik is hulle Wit See Bas) sien wat ons die afgeloope paar maande hier kry. Ek gaan vir mooch vra om jou toe te laat om die privaat saait te view.
