The skate park is technically listed at 28th and B - but if you've never been, it's not really anywhere near B.  You just take 28th all the way up, you'll pass Stanford park on your left and the B street theater stuff - then 28th turns into a little access road.  There is a dog park, then a concrete recycling facility on the left and straight ahead you'll see a city of Sacramento gated complex - veer right, and you'll come to a big open air warehouse where the city has installed a skate park.  From there you can see the access to the bike trail, and consequently the beach area.  You'll want a cart to get down the levee and it's a bit sandy towards the water, but overall the access is pretty nice.

I only had to drill two little holes for the clam cleat above the water line... for now the back is tethered with an eyepad installed in the the factory rudder threads, which are molded in.  6LBs!  I think mine is only 4 - but it seems to hold in the current I've faced.  I do want to upgrade to a slightly bigger danforth though.

three kwikfish sardine wrapped and juiced and ready to go.

filleted out a few sardines last night, cut them into the right size and brined them in some pro cure sardine juice for refreshing on the water.

picking up a few live crawdads today from 99 ranch to add a little more scent (tail meat) to the wraps when i hit the water (old trick i learned from an old guide). got enough sardine pro cure juice, crawdad gel, and random stuff like that to be ready to go.

Jesus, with all that your going to end up bring the seal up from the SAC!

See everyone tomorrow morning.

Ill be @ howe around 6. Just a heads up, drifting with a paddle yak is no joke below campus commons. A buddy of mine fishing braid snagged up while drifting downstream @ sunrise one time and it was not only dangerous but a total cluster @#!&. Its easier to do in a hobie because you can hold steady in the current and work your snag out but even I wont attempt it.

Im in the same boat as novo, no anchor so ill be jigging around the pump as well as working the 20+ ft slots on the csus side between guy west and j st.

I have a finder so I can answer "whats down there?" requests since ill be floating around.

FYI:For those not familiar with Sacramento County parks, Howe Launch is pay to park/launch

http://www.msa2.saccounty.net/parks/Pages/ParkDetails.aspx?pn=American River Parkway&pnd=Howe Avenue River Access

Vehicle Entrance Fees: $5
If no one is working at the entrance kiosk, be sure to self-register your vehicle; look for the self-registration stand. Park rangers strictly enforce self registration and will ticket vehicles with no registration. Exact change is recommended.
