Oh yeah, forgot about the rain...

Still don't know what I'm going to do.

Maybe do a shuttle and find good casting water to park the yak near?

I can't imagine being in the lower river getting led around a hole by a strong salmon for 30 mins. (like a couple of weeks ago) amongst pb's dealing with the current. There's just not a lot room in those spots.

Like the idea of an afterfishing chill spot like fishworks has at Howe Ave.

I just checked out the A/R this afternoon and am thinking of launching out of Howe instead of Gristmill.  The flows at Gristmill are just too low and am probably going to have some issues with my Outback.  Not to mention, I've never fished out of the kayak on anchor so I'd rather fish from an area that I'm more familiar with.

I'm going to wrap some Kwikfish the night before so I don't have to mess with wrapping them on the water.

This is all weather permitting and right now based on the forecast I'm anticipating some steelhead fishing up by sunrise on Saturday morning  :smt012.

I'm down for a launch/chill out of Howe.  Never launched there so a pre-dawn meet-up would be awesome for me.  I'll throw some steelhead gear in my box just in case - and I'm with Amir - if it's crazy out there, I'll pull out and hit it in November.  Hell, I'll just head over to the port on Saturday if it's too out of control.  This is my only day to get out this week, so I may fish all day.

Right now most of the weather info I'm seeing is 20-30% chance of showers, mostly in the evening.  So we might stay dry in the a.m. fellas.  We're looking at a 7:27 sunrise, so any reason to be out there before 6:00?

since this section of the american is not barbless or artificial only, two rods are allowed with the stamp right?  not sure if i want to play with two but at least its an option, i think.

"A Second-Rod Stamp is required to fish with two rods in inland waters in any sport fishery in which the regulations of the Commission provide for the taking of fish by angling, except those waters in which only artificial lures or barbless hooks may be used"

The closest and most feasible pull out would be 28th street which isnt too far downstream. My only concern with any area below paradise beach is security that early in the morning.

I don't think you can keep a salmon if fishing two rods. Its like halibut fishing in the ocean, if fishing with two rods you have to release any rockies caught.

I wasn't planning on fishing two rods, but I just went through the freshwater regs and the supplemental regs and I don't see anything that would indicate you cannot fish with two rods, provided you have a two rod stamp and are not in waters limited to barbless hooks or artificial lures.

i think salmon is restricted to one rod and barbless hooks in the ocean only...freshwater i think its pretty much a free for all throughout the valley district except for snagging.

Ancil hoffman to hazel ave, 1 rod, barbless hooks. Below hoffman 2 rods are ok. No restriction on species.
