I'll be spending this weekend down in Monterey.  I will be making a WSB run as well as a rockfish/halibut run while I am down there.  I will be fishing on Saturday, Sunday & Monday.  I'll update this post with the details as the weekend gets closer.  Any updates as to the status of the WSB would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Michael,

I'm game to join you this weekend. I hope to have the tranny in my truck fixed by then. It will be good to be able to fish with you again and hopefully we can both come home with a big ghost this time.

Me three! I'll keep an eye on the reports and if the bite is still on I'll probably be making the drive down.
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

Okay, my current plans are pretty fluid, however I am definitely set to go on Saturday morning out of MBK.  The current plan is to arrive at 6:00 AM for an anticipated launch at 6:30 AM.  If you arrive late, I will have my radio open on channel 69.

Not wanting to get run over by some of the idiot power boaters that have been out there on Saturday's. I think that if the fog is in, like it was today. I will wait to launch @ 7:30 or so. MBK

Good point, aka-kimo. I hope to be there too around that time.
What's the recommended hook size for these beasties? 2-hook sliding setup?
Frozen bait ok? or get the fresh stuff somewhere?
Thanks for the help.

I am going with the size 5 hooks, do not really need a sliding hook. I hard tied mine, 2 hooks about 4" apart . Fresh frozen squid is good unless you are able to jig up live squid out there. All I was jigging up last week was jelly fish , so I stuck with the fresh frozen. good luck, aka-Kimo

Hi Dan,

Hope it works out, because WSB or not, I will be on the water on Monday.  PM me once you are more certain.
