Looking to hit the Sierras during this weekend's (hopefully) warm spell.  Any interest in fishing Staples, Proton, or Fred?  A few trout for the smoker would be nice, as well as getting to paddle in that fresh mtn air   :smt001

Not for this weekend, wife in Hawaii.  So i'm flying solo, probably just rent a room or a small cabin for maybe saturday night if I don't feel like doing the cannonball day run.  Company is welcome if I get a place, just don't foster any "Brokeback Yak" ideas.   (Not that I discriminate against or avoid persons of that persuasion - just not my cup of java for an overnighter)

I might be interested in Proton or the others since I missed the gathering last year. Only problem is that my soon to be new employer may want me to do some undercover training on Sat. If no training I could bring my motorhome if you really want one. It sleeps six, but I recommend 3 if not mixed company ( you know, the brokeback part). If I was to bring, maybe a little gas $$? Otherwise I think I would come up Sun.

If the guy at Caples Lake Resort quoted me $110 for one saturday night stay, isn't he charging more than the applicable summer rate?

Not that it should keep you out of the mountains but, Saturday is opening day of deer season for most of the western slope of the Sierra's

Really shouldn't be a problem. Just a reminder that the traffic will be a little more armed than usual.

Congrats RR on getting a new gig.

Don't forget your yellow Panther Martins at Maples as you fish the south east cove and topline.

The Sniffer has a 50% off coupon.

Last time I was there, we were in that little store and the guy caught himself quoting the winter rate then corrected it.  Honest mistake, I'd call and double check.

Thanks for the tips guys.  I'm headed up tomorrow early AM.  Hit Proton on the way up, then going shopping at Staples on Sun morning on the way out.  Would like to see how many species I can ring up.  I'd be so stoked with a hat trick of rainbows, browns, and brooks.  Hey, it could happen!

Check out this bitchin' forecast:   :smt007

Mainly sunny. High 74F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.  UV Index: 7 High
