Where on coast is ocean permit or tag from DFG required??

My soon to be bro-in-law tells me I need a tag to fish in the ocean. Another person told me that it is only required south of Santa Barbara. Whats the rule?

Its an Ocean Enhancement Stamp and I'm pretty sure its South of point conception.

yep...south of SB you need a stamp (ocean enhancement) There USE to be a "bay stamp" but this was the 1st year they don't require it. Oh unless you want to fish for sturgeon, lobsters or abs then you need stamps and cards....See and you assumed fishing was relaxing!

And a Steelhead Report Card, Salmon Punch Card (wait did they cancel those lol), a 2 Rod Stamp, and wifi internet access to confirm the regs haven't changed during the time you launched and returned....

Mike, just make sure you bought a green sticker kayak and you'll be good. 
Those red sticker ones'll get you in alot of trouble.

I think the ocean enhancement stamp is required for "south of Point Arguello", which is near Conception if I remember right.
 If you are fishing in Santa Barbara you need one on your license.
