Since I did not see any events posted for this date at the NCKA calendar, I went ahead and reserved Hetchy Hetchy paddle in (or hike) Group campsite.

Check in is Friday the 17th at 2PM and we check out on Sunday 12 noon.

I need to know who can make it - (if you are a "maybe" do not post please / thank you) so I can confirm how many people there will be - this affects the campsite fee and the number of free car passes I can give out. The first ones to post and commit will get the free car passes.

some info -

You can paddle in, boat in or you can hike in - it's not a bad hike unless you have health issues. This site is a very private camp site (water front) good for 100 people from what I was told and it is dog friendly :smt001 There are a few picnic tables, a nice big fire pit, running water, 2 pit toilets. We have to bring out own firewood - we can provide a shuttle service via kayak for those who bring firewood - we need plenty! If you have kids or pets -watch out for tarantulas - we've seen at least one every year we went up there, There are plenty of gopher holes so watch where you step - I suggest everyone should have a head lamp when walking around at night.

My family and family friends will be there as well - there will be lot's of kids running around - just so you know.

Let the head count begin :smt006

Jack, it's you that cracks me up. You should seriously think about making your own Hallmark style greeting cards....I'm sure the suicide rate will climb tremendously  :smt005 And yes, the footrub is a great idea...perhaps we can get a side bet going...the person who catches the second biggest fish of the day owns mooch a footrub :smt002  And Jack, your wife and daughter are sweethearts!

on a another note: here's last years trip = http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php/topic,16993.0.html

Mooch, how far a walk is it from the parking lot? My wife likes to know.
Thanks.

Going Fishing?
Winds from the south, hook in
    the mouth.
Wind from the east, bite the least.
Wind from the north, further off.
Wind from the west, bite the
    best.

here's the map: the parking lot is next to the boat launch and the the trail starts at the boat launch/ marina...the trail runs adjacent to the lake and leads directly to the Hetch Hetchy group campsite. I believe the hike is less than a mile.
