Went out early this morning and decide to go out of the kelp beds to do some top water action since there wasn't any wind. I landed a 42" striper weighing in at 32lbs can you say a great morning?

Nice gills on that fish.  Great catch.  Thanks for sharing.  It got me excited to go fishing again.  Have not gone out at all this year yet but I think I might head down there this Sunday.  Hope they are still around.

I saw a bunch of sardines near the wharf and where the coast guard point was when I paddled around the kelps, believe me I had thoughts of pulling out the Sabiki for bait but didn't because I didn't bring the Hobie Live Well with me this morning. I heard reports of Stripers up and down the coast so instead of the normal rockfish I went outside of the kelps and threw hair raiser with a double tail for a good 30 mins with no bites. It was really calm so I threw the popper and 4-6 casts that's when I hooked up on this baby.
