It's been a while since I got fish-slime on my system. If I remember it right it was last July at LindaMar.

Anyway, 7 months in hibernation, got 3 chances, and finally today... a break. 32" 13.5lb butt on my handline... yes! handline. I was bummed when I first fished with my wooden spool at Paradise (May08) when the butt (at least 30") snapped my 20lb leader. I almost had her in my net but the leader did not hold on. I have been asked "why handline?"... Something different, more challenging, traditional.

Half the credit goes to InsaneDuane's bait. Many thanks, Dude! I gotta learn how to cast the net.

Nice to meet: Dave, Hai, and Terry. So many things happened today at the wall. I will let InsaneDuane tell the story.

I had 2nd thought of going out but my handline that keeps staring at me was just in my nerve. It was brutal around noon but it paid off, at least for my itch.

Need help on rotating the pics. Thanks!

I'm sure you will. There is nothing to it. Worst case... loose your fish of a lifetime.

Lino, I'm curious to know how long it took for you to pull the halibut in.
