In the event of a tie the leader will be decided by a coin toss

Correct,
Halibut will be the target species and the top anglers will be determined by overall length.
Also I will announce the winners of the hourly raffles on ch-69.
(I will have a list of winners after the event in case you miss the announcements)

"Catch, Measure, Photo, & Release" might be the preferred derby format, but if I land a big legal tasty butt, I'm keeping that sucka!!!

If it's going to be good I'm going to try and hit NCC rockfish.

I too had been looking forward to this event but unfortunately I overbooked myself for the day.     Back in February I purchased 10 tickets for the Giants/A's game at AT&T.

That's OK, I still have my eye on the Beardsley event.

Any place to camp in the area? or cheap Hotel recommendation? I may show up from Reno, never caught a Halibut.

I think Lake Chabot would be your best bet 20 mins away.
