Woke up at 5:30 and called Allen.  No wind outside our windows.  Rshu PMs me at 5:29 am, saying he just got back from a vacation overseas and want to join us.  Cool.  Picked up shiners at Loch Lomond, and it's starting to rain a little, and the wind is howling by then.

Arrive at PP and HighTide is waiting.  The ranger gave us this funny look and asked if we were serious about going out.  There are whitecaps, and it looks like our yaks would take a severe beating, so we decide to pier fish with the bait we have.  It seemed like the winds were 40+mph at times, and the rain was off and on.

We hung out til noon and called it a day after 3.5 hours of pier fishing.  RShu had a hali on, but as he was trying to maneuver it around the pier and to the shore (we didn't have a crab net to bring it up), the hali went under the pier and the line broke.  I saw that rod go bendo and that was the excitement of the day.  Bait stealers were very active today.

I caught a dungeness, so technically, it's not a skunk 0 for 2, but I'll try again Friday when the conditions are better.  Sorry I don't have any fish porn.

Didn't I warn you guys about the wind?  :smt003  You guys made the right decision not to go out on the yaks.  Thanks for the report and pictures Jonathan.

Forget about the grounded planes in Europe.

It's the grounded kayaks that's much worst. :smt003

hardcore are probably the guys that survived Del Valle.
If Mooch had been with us today, the weather would have been even worse.   :smt044

Made lemonade with lemons today.  Good conversations, and the only thing missing other than the lost halibut was beer!  See y'all next time.  thx for the pics, Hightide.
