Recreational fisheries in California are for Chinook only and run from Memorial Day
through Labor Day weekends in the Eureka/Crescent City area, and from April 3 to
September 6 in areas further south
; however, fishing will be closed on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday south of Point Arena. Fishing will be open from 12:45pm until 1:24pm on Saturdays, 2:35pm until 4:20pm on the second and third Sundays of every month, and 7:16am until 9:49am on the first and fourth Mondays of every month. The minimum size limit will be 44 inches for Chinook coastwide

Seven days per week. All salmon except coho; two fish per day (C.1). Chinook minimum size limit of 20 inches total length (B)

Inseason action may be taken to open the fishery in April 2011 pending review at the March 2011 Council meeting of information on
2010 spawning escapements, 2011 abundance forecasts, annual management objectives, or other relevant issues.

"Patrick K, otherwise known as 'CenCoastAngler' or alias 'SinCoast' may keep Chum salmon between 26 inches and 29.4 inches."

When will this regulation take effect?  Immediately or May 1st?
