I've heard perching is good basically from around December to April.  So is it still a good time to go perch fishing?

Perch fishing should be good throughout the Summer time too!

I'm planning to go clamming this weekend and might do some Perch fishing there too.  The sand beach between Sand Point and Dillon Beach day beach is good for redtail or rubberlip perch.  Want to join me?  :smt003

When they say Dec-April is primetime for perch, they're referring to surfperch (BSP, walleye, calico, redtail) = the sandy beach dwellers. They're spawning right now so they are more concentrated into smaller areas and beach structure is more prominent thanks to the winter conditions aka big waves and strong currents.
I'm sure winter-spring is a good time for the rocky/kelpy variety too (rubberlip, pile, black, striped), but those type will bite year-round.

Yeah, sorry I meant Surf Perching  :smt002  Not looking for another one on the Yak.  :smt044  Sara seems to really like perching, but we haven't had much luck the last couple times.  Was just wondering if its still worth trying for them say this weekend.

I often hear that stripers are out there in the surf too with the perch, is there a time that they are best to target in the surf?

stripers in monterey bay are mostly a summer thing.  You can catch surf perch all year.  I knew some old guys who damn neared survived on perch for their food

Al,
Check this out:  http://surf-perch.net/Fishing/index.html#SlideFrame_1
This guy has it down! Eventhough he's fly fishing, he knows the spots, and well, you can probably get a general idea as to where to fish because of the ingenious way he keeps tabs on it.  However, try getting some bloodworms and cutting them to small pieces say 2" or less, that's worked for me when nothing else was.
Good Luck!
