Recommened Test line for GS4 Derby? Is 15 Lb P-line X too light?

Get the ab tags, Eric, and we'll get you on some abs, right, Sonny?  The minus tide is the best guarantee we have at this point! 

As for line, I've never even run a leader other than a shrimpfly rig or rockcod rig with a leadhead or metal jig at the bottom.  Straight 20-25 pound mono on a basic setup with sound drag will get you fish, gerrrrrrunnnnnteeeeedd.      (you guys go ahead and waste more time getting fancy with your lines and I'll catch a giant ling with my Walmart Special   )

Hi yaker,
After a season or 2, just reel the braid directly onto a different reel. This way, the used/abused line will now be at the bottom of the spool and the fresh/clean line will be at the top. By doing this, I have been able to make my braid last for 4+ seasons in some cases.
