I hooked up with Roger a fellow NCKA guy and three other friends of mine Monday, one of my buds was on a kayak. the other two rented a boat. We got on the lake @ 9 am. and split up. I headed towards raccoon point, and caught a trout so small I was surprised his little &as hit my Rapala. I paddled for about two hours with nothing happening. Ran in to Roger and he had caught a 2 lb. Trout. I trolled till about 2pm. and decided to head back and hooked and landed a 6.6 lb. trout.,My second whopper button and hat in 3 weeks. My friend Boris on his Hobie cat also landed a nice one @ 5.8 lbs. I saw two huge trout caught both over 10 lbs., one from shore (power eggs)., and one from guys trolling from a boat (wedding ring). I know the fish are planters, but it sure is fun especially since it is 5 minutes from my house. Stripers and Halibut are coming soon to the bay and I will be ready. I have a really sweet secret spot that is off the hook when the fish are around, but that is another story.

I am still having a hard time attaching my pictures. My computer skills are lame to say the least. I will send more pictures soon.

No worries--this isn't a site about computers; it's about fishing and you seem to have that part dialed! Plus, I'd rather have good info than a bad photo.

Hey Brian,

Nice fishing with you, and strong work on another whopper! I caught a couple more just drifting powereggs in that half moon bay area... btw, did you hear that Boris fell in when we were leaving? He was reaching around to grab something in his storage bag behind him and in he went! The guys from the marina were nice enough to give him towels, he said it was pretty cold! Until next time buddy!

You've been doing so well with those rainbows BA. I've been on the skunk train for
so long perhaps it's time to try my luck at the lakes for a change.

Hey Rog. it was a pleasure meeting you and fishing with you. I figured that you would hook up with a few more fish or two. that spot you were in is a nice spot to soak some bait and take a chill from constant paddling around my beloved lake. I did here about Boris flipping his yak. He told me a couple of days later at work. We had a pretty good laugh about his spill and mine that happened about a month ago. Getting back on your yak is crucial because you WILL flip that bad boy, and it is only a matter of time before you do. It is probably a combination of fishing this lake since 1966 with many, many, skunk sessions, and and putting a lot of time on the water, mostly from shore with my good friend Don, that I kind of know were some of the spots are. All you fellow NCKA don't give up. Keep trolling with the advised lures, and get into that (zone). I really think that being able to change speeds and slide into and out of the spots are a big advantage over the rental trolling boats. Kayak fishing rocks. I am obsessed with it. I hope to hit the lake again tues. or weds. the 9th or 10th @ 9am. Job permitting. all are more than welcome, please join me.

P.S. a friend of mine a non NCKA wants to take his kayak from Sausalito to Angel Island and fish, and he has never fallen off his kayak. I told him don't do it until he can self rescue. I don't want to be hearing about it on the 10 o clock news.
