The header says it all. I saw 30-40 small boats just off Prescott and David Ave today. We're talking a couple hundred yards off the beach, I heard a couple boats caught 5,6 fish mooching with whole squid.20z weight off the bottom. It's going to get rough and wet late sooooooooooo paddle out and get on the bite! 30-40lb test braided with 6 ft. mono filament leader. Last chance.  :smt006

Au contraire...  The vis was AWESOME!  ;)

Unfortunately, the fish were at bottom at 130-140ft, lol.

man... i think i need to break the code out there. was saying that they were catching fish on the bottom. BS... i didn't see any of those guys reel up any dabs like i did. but then again, i fished all the way up and down the water column for nada. I'm glad that i was at least able to bring fish to everybody else around me though.

Props to you for getting out there and trying. I almost jumped in my truck and made the 7hr RT drive to give it a shot. Almost. jim

WSB? In Monterey? In January? I love el nino! It was good to see you guys on Sat. Nice of Freddie to bring good luck to all the nearby boats.
The bite was pretty hot Wed-Sat w/some boats getting 3-6 fish and heard one boat landed 13 btwn 2 guys (all in the 35-57lb range) on Thursday, but that's why they're the pros. The ocean will probably be unfishable for the next week+ and who knows what will happen to the squid+fish...hopefully el nino brings us some more exotic gifts from faraway lands hahaha...
