Like Ernest said, it's a 2 piece pole spear.  Usually after the ab dive, I spent some time searching for fresh fish  :smt003

No pics handy, but it's pretty basic... I try to avoid shore-diving as much as possible.  :)
Got a board a while ago from Nate (Spinal Tap) & didn't do much to it.  It has one attachment point for kelp clip, 1 motorcycle bungee net($5), & 2 velcro straps for speargun.  The only thing I'm planning on adding is the $8 backpack strap I picked up from Petaluma Sport Shop & Dive last time I was there.

Nothing against shore-diving, I've had great experiences doing so.  But carrying that stuff up a hill... sucks!   :smt009

The board was old, so i wasn't worried about doing anything bad to it.  I just poked a really sharp, skinny knife through, then looped zip ties through the hole.  Everything is secured with big, beefy zip ties.  Works great.

That gauge is a 9".  I showed it to show the wrist strap made from an old surf leash.  Easy to get on and off, never tangles, and never falls off.

Hey Dave
I would recomend getting an elastic quick release lanyard on that gauge. You want free dive gear to be streamlined and able to remove in a pinch. Imagine trying to undo that velcro, with a neopreme glove, in current, at the end of you dive. It would be better to slip out of and live to buy another $10 gauge. Just my 2 cents.
