It's time to announce.  We havn't informed the general public yet, but NCKA always gets a heads up 1st haha.

March 20th is the date, and sign-ups start now.

We are using the Portuguese hall this year for weigh in and banquet, so there is no limit on entrants like in previous 5 years.   No mandatory morning meeting either, so you can fish your way to Santa Cruz.  Tell your friends.

We'll be taking sign-ups till 2/21.

Go to the Lets Go Fishing Radio Show website (link below) for full info and entry form.

Dude, like 2 weeks ago I read an article about Pier Fishing in some glossy mag that's produced by the Monterey Herald (I hate those corporate fatcats). You were quoted as saying the derby was on March 20th. What up with that?  :smt044 Just kidding, we still love ya!

I alwas thought this was a shore fishing only event, but it doesn't seem to be. Maybe it would be worthwhile to take a kayak out and try to earn some points for aoty? I will check to see if I have that day open to make the trek. Thanks allen, see you this weekend

so as weighmaster would you have a problem with someone trying to catch them from a kayak?

shore fishing is possibly more successful but i think it would be good practice to head out to stillwater and try and chase them

Camp? No.
But you can crash at my house if you need a place mid-bay Mooch.
Since we don't have to checkin @ 6am this year, I might head to one of my jumbo perch spots in Monterey, PG, or Carmel. Because the striped/pile/rubberlip perch are larger than BSP on average. Last year, the top 3 were all non-BSP if I remember correctly.
