Well, the original launch was scrubbed due to 2-3' wind waves outside and a nice shore break on the inside....kinda looked more like the coast. A short drive to plan B and things weren't much better but we gave it our best shot.
We all knew without any major fresh water outflow (serious lack of rain) that the bait thieves would be out in force. No matter how well you banded your bait to the hooks the little buggers would strip it clean in minutes. It was kind of disheartening to know most of the time you had little to no bait soaking despite constant re-baiting. You would just stare at the rod tip as it twitched due to the thieves constant pecking.
Yes we were all prepared. Hot thermos full of tea or soup, heat pads in the socks/mittens, rain gear and even my new bimini top.  :smt003  I picked the "bimini"  with mostly plastic parts but still was not worried about it as the real concern is our graphite lightening rods.
Sonny and I stuck it out through the end of the outflow which incidentally was about the same time I ran out of bait. A GREAT time was had by ALL  :smt044.  Let the rains begin......

Oh!, Doesn't Adam look warm and relaxed in the second picture...he really loves this sturgeon fishing.

0 fer 12 and this one may have been the STRAWthatBROKEmyBACK! :smt088
I can't thank  :toothy2: Allen( & Barbie :smt100 )enough for doing all they had done to "make me go", but even with a hundred+ dollars of underwear on, I was Fffffffffrozen! the heat pads i was gifted and placed atop my toes were over riden. The larger one DID keep me save me loosing a few fingers, that, i'm positive about!
Sony~ i just can't be as positive as you about fishing in places that don't inhabit fish! Did you see the way that seal was looking at us?

pic of SunnySony and O2Pa', as far away from me as possible

....and i did feel a slight tap......i swung hard.....my gloom,turned into gleem!
a barnacle covered something, rolling down current......SWEET!

I was out in the rain myself yesterday, but not on the water. I was trapesing around the hills looking for shrooms in the rain. In fact if it wasn't such poor vis I probably would have been able to see you guys. Allen I love your rain fly. I could see that thing flying in the drink if you hooked up.  :smt005 Ya know they make hats with those on them too.  :smt002 It's been a looooong time since I soaked bait out of Blackpoint, but they are around sometimes. Some freshwater would help.

What's the problem?  All you need is some 8 lb test and a worm.   :smt003
