Short Danielson Blue Plastic Crab Gauges!!!!!!

Also, most of the plastic crab gauges and even some aluminum ones are just on the short side, so you think you're legal, when you're actually a little short. It's a small amount, maybe 1/32 of an inch, but a warden will cite. The only plastic one I found that's accurate is bright lime yellow in color. Measure your crab gauges to make sure.

Thanks Frank! You were right. Of my (4) blue plastic "Danielson Shellfish Gauges" (3) were short of the 5 3/4" measurement by as much a 1/16" of an inch. Into the trash. Only (1) was accurate measured by two metal drafting scales. The one chartreuse colored plastic gauge was also accurate.
Sure would hate to pay a $900 fine for a short $2 gauge. Doubt that would hold up in court...

I just looked at mine and it was to close for comfort so I ran a fine over the 5 3/4 side to make it legal

SOB!  That really sucks, i wonder how many citations were issued based on the short Danielson gauges.  Can you say class action?

I only keep them when they are 6" that way there is no guessing, and more crab meat.

Just checked all the Blue Danielson guages model 200crg on the rack and they all measure up legal.
Must have had a bad run or poss corrected the problem.

BTW, if anyone has a Cobra Marauder, don't measure your fish on the scale imprinted on the side...the measurements are off.

Wanting to post a question on how to measure the crab but instead called DFG and inquire what pages from the Sports Regulation can they be found.

I've attached a summary. Hope this helps others that may be needing this information.

Going Fishing?
Winds from the south, hook in
    the mouth.
Wind from the east, bite the least.
Wind from the north, further off.
Wind from the west, bite the
    best.
