No apology necessary Dave, this thread is a great part of the learning curve.  Shark Shiled technology was developed by the South African government nearly 20 years ago and progressed to a consumer unit with licensing to the Australian company about 8  years ago.

Part of that learning curve (Man Overboard) is recognizing that like anywhere, everything we read online ain't necessarily factual even when it meets our intelectual inclinations.  If an article is published years earlier, the fact that it was discounted may not show up in the top search returns.  That generates incomplete research.  As "bloggers", maintaining a strong editorial conscience requires some effort.  And for some, experience.

Beyond company testing to develop the product, Shark Shield has undergone ongoing testing to get their NATO # and to some degree, by every government that purchases the product.  Truth is, I was sold on the testimony of people who have had field experiences.  Pretty compelling stuff and as good as (field) research gets.

I really appreciate everybody rallying to keep the thread readable and informative and letting newbie readers know I'm not some dipshit selling carpetbagger tonics.  In the opinion of most.

Happy Holidays!
