I'm still here in cabo. I fished a panga on Tuesday and I caught 2 small dodos right off the bat and that was it for the rest of the day. The ocean is flat calm with little wind this week. They actually need some cooler water to come in so the bite will pick up close to shore. The Tuna Jackpot Derby is also going on right now and a boat fishing off of Punta Gordo scored a 384lb yellow fin tuna. 5 pounds short of a new world record. Those guys must have been stoked. I could have kayak fished but you have to travel aways and there was no one to go with so I cancelled that thought. The panganuero I hired will take me to some rocks he knows for sprearfishing grouper next May. So thats exciting. I am not able to post some pics now but will up load some to the site when I get back. Hope everyone is well. One more weekend when I get back for rockfishing below Pigeon Point, Right? Hope the weather gets to a point for a ling upgrade. Adios from Cabo live, Craig :smt006

Ok! We are back and yes I went to work today(keep repeating after me," I am lucky to have a job"). I saw turtles hatching and carried them down to the water. I fished. I played with my grandaughter. We ate shrimp tacos till the plates were empty. I surfcasted for fun. I saw some huge YF come from Gordo Banks. Pictures tell more than I can describe so here you go.

Thanks for the report Craig! You're not missing any ocean fishing right now as we've got 15-20ft swells out there. I'll be surfing Doran tmw am and scoping out where to drop traps either tmw or Sunday. See you when you return safely. jim

Baby turtles hatched on the beach right in front of me today. I was surfcasting and there was a small wire barrier around a nest of eggs and no shit they started hatching right there. Someone from the hotel came down and we loaded the babys into a tray and took them down to the waters edge and launched them off into the big blue. It was amazing. I am not to sure about the protocol around handling the babies but it sure was cool watching them swim off without getting eaten by birds on the way down to the water. The pics are way cool and I will post them up on Monday. This has been a great trip. Hasta la vista. Tortugas son numero uno.
