Hey Mooch,
I was just thinking of asking you about crabbing in HMB.  Sounds like a great opportunity for you to expand your knowledge of the outdoors.  Good luck in your new life journey and I hope you keep in touch with the forum.  We want to hear more wild and wacky stories of the lone pinoy fisherman fishing with the bears in Alaska.  That would be a great story for abc-cbn news.  That trip next year might be doable for me so I just might see you there.

What makes you think he'll be the lone Pinoy up in Alaska?  We own that state.   :smt044

Never been there as you can guess.  Show's you how much I know about Alaska.  So polepole is pinoy too.  Makes me feel home already just knowing another bro pinoy might be with us in Alaska.  Don't think have met you yet but if you still live in SJ maybe you can help a newbie pinoy how to improve on his fishing skills someday.

WTG Joel. I told ya "gift of gab" is 75% of it. You can talk to anyone. :smt002

I've never forgotten a detail of the 2 summers I spent up there on Prince William Sound. Hooked my first (& only) kayak salmon there, and hooked my first silver salmon from shore there too.
Ketchikan is beautiful, even in the rain.

Helly hansens and Extratuf boots are going to be your new friends!

Joel,

BIG CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I had a feeling when we were talking Saturday that you had nailed it. Your personality, gift of gab, and genuine concern for other people are perfect attributes for  guiding others who will be counting on you...

Joel, be sure to bring some good warm footware!  We don't want to see those hobbit feet of yours get hurt from the extreme winters up there!  :smt044

criteria to make sure joel knows what he's getting into:

1. a big lake with bears near it and possibly salmon
2. snowing/blizzard conditions
3. ice on the roads, all women are bundled up
4. mooses/meese
5. friendly locals all armed with shotguns

anything else i'm missing?
