Prowler 15 on Craigslist, $500

I saw this listed yesterday, but am looking for a 13' as a second kayak.  Plus, didn't want to drive 2 hours to find out something was wrong with it.  Maybe one of you up north might be interested.

"hello thank you for your interest it is a ocean prowler 16 foot it has a rudder and front and center hold for storage. it originally had a fish finder and paddle but the person i got it from didn't buy himself a paddle with his new one and the fish finder has been broken since i got it."

does appear to be a good deal.  dont know why he says its 16 feet, there is no chance that's a 16 footer.  the big game is 13' and 34" wide, 70 lbs and a 550lb capacity.  slow but very stable.

I emailed that guy. It looks like he has added several rod holder mounts etc. I'm guessing he didn't do the additions. He probably bought it like that. I may buy it if he will take 400. Does anyone want the rudder if I buy it? I want a fish and dive but this is tempting if he comes down a little.

His lack of accurate knowledge made me a bit suspicious, which is why I really didn't want to make the long drive.  My other motivation for posting was in case someone recognized it as theirs. . .

Big deal, he made a few modifications, such as adding rod holders and extending the boat by 3 feet.  I don't see a problem.  

Could be a great deal, in that he has no idea what he's dealing with.  Or it could be a terrible deal and is hoping to pull the wool over somebody's eyes.

Doesn't hurt contacting the guy - it may be a diamond in the ruff.

Cant argue with it being a good deal, I am just worried in safety wise, if the person doesn't understand the quality of what they are selling Murphys Law what can go wrong it will go wrong, the stakes is just too high just my 2 cents

He agreed to my price but he's in Healdsburg. That's a long way to drive to inspect and then find a problem. Maybe I will go out this weekend.
