Domenic joined my son Collin and I for a much needed beach trek yesterday.  The south wind had pushed some clear water on shore, so Dom and I were treated to a great dive while Coll played in the tidepools nearby.  We were cruising with huge blacks and looking around for a couple meaty abs to take home.  Lunch on the beach was better than most restaurants.  The company, the scenery and the good energy that flowed were a prescription I needed.  Good Times.   :smt001

We pulled two abs around 9" and speared a couple fish.  The incoming very high tide and the wind helped us decide against using the rods, bait and tackle that we hauled, but the workout is a big part of the quality of the day.

Very cool post Abking! I agree that the company is what makes the day, not the fish, and it looks like you had the very best company. Thanks for the report. I plan on exploring the Northern coast next year now that I have some experience under my belt.

Doesn't get any better then that and happy to see that no "game boy" in sight!  Great looking kid he must be as proud to have you as a dad as you are to have him as a son! Keep up the good work, another child that won't cost society but will add to it, what a concept eh?

Thanks for taking us to the East of Japan! You're living the good life Abking  :smt001
I wouldn't go so far as to call a lingcod filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a lingcod's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Great stuff Eric!

My little jaunt with my daughter down to the local pond doesn't even compare although we did clean up litter & recycle.

Love your little escapes, just straight beautiful. :smt007

Hey Brother,

thanks for sharing. That place is the promised land and in more ways than one. The leg is holding up well. Duct tapped the brace on this afternoon and was able to walk over a mile in uneven terrain while chasing deer. Currently sitting in Barnes & Noble in Redding getting ready for this monster storm. Will hunker down tomorrow and get after in Wed. Stay dry. Thinking the leg will do well in the water. Will have to give it a whirl.
