Hurry up get a line in the water!!!!
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Dude! That's right in the lineup of a popular surf break.

He's only jumping because the 19 footer cruising up to Pigeon Point punked him out of the water. :smt002

OK, so I'm not the only one. I thought the same thing when I first saw those pics (and posted in in the Gen Talk). But who am I to question the Shark Research Committee?

After watching some mako shark video (google video search), I'm almost positive this is a mako, which are much more common in that area.  I've seen a few leap like this before out on tuna fishing trips, one time unhooked like this.  The streamlined shape and being 8-10 feet in length screams mako, not great white which would have more girth at that size.

I think the ID is coming from the person who took the pictures.  Also, he said the shark was chasing a bait ball, another indicator of it being a mako.  I've only heard of great whites exhibiting this behavior with marine mammals in Australia and South Africa.

I saw this this morning & I was thinking it looked kind of skinny for a GW as well. Interesting.

Really really cool series of pictures, regardless of the species. I like that you see all the cars on the road there, so you know there were guys in the water when it was taken!
