I'm not on the list, but have caught black perch, striped perch, and Monkeyface pricklebacks all larger than the current records.

The current monkeyface record is held by NCKA board member Kirk, BTW.

I see there is a new kelp greenling record. Dang, now I can't say I've caught 4 record-size greenlings anymore lol. It was like 2lb 9ozs.
Lots of these records are easily attainable. I see 6 that could be broken pretty easily.
Oh, and it turns out Pigeon Pt is in Monterey Co now...according to the copper rockfish record-holder lol.

The black perch record is held by an NCKA member too!

Is anybody a current member of IGFA? Because it w/b cool to get a scale certified to be the official NCKA tourney scale. Then it'd be 100% legit if somebody broke a state record during an NCKA tourney or event! We did this for another club that I belong to.
Just a thought...

30 years ago, I used to babysit for Joe Newman, the China Rockcod record holder. His dad Will Newman , worked at Bodega Marine Lab. He still may work there.

My mom lives across the street from Mac Weakley, the guy who caught the un-official Large mouth bass WORLD RECORD down at Dixon Lake near San Diego. If ANYONE catches a fish they think is a record, he said to call DFG first, and if you don't have a certified scale, take it to a grocery store or feed store (if it is THAT big). Their scales are certified by Weights and Measures in each county to be accurate and take lots of pictures and video everything you can, even the certification sticker on the scale.

Don't forget http://forum.kayak4fish.com/ hosts the unofficial records for kayak fish. I believe it's on a photo and honor system.

Thanks, Aaron!  The truth is...  I caught and kept an 11 pound copper about 5 years ago!  I'll have to dig up the pics some time.   :smt001
