I was out with Alex, Bear, ChuckE, Otter, Lapulapu, Superd270 and a few others I don't know.

Was very slow.  I only got one 35 inch barracuda. Red tide now very scattered.  Saw one 55 inch WSB that a guy on a boat near the yellow can caught earlier in the morning.  It was a whopper! I asked to take a picture of it and the two guys had a time lifting it up. I didn't see or hear of any other WSB taken.

When we did catch something it was mostly barracuda though ChuckE got a 30lb thresher shark.

Was calm in the morning but by midday the wind/swells picked up making the return trip bumpy.

Very different day than Thurs/Friday.  For one thing, very little seal and bird action today.  Last Friday the seals were everywhere, presumably feeding on squid.  And there were birds hoovering overhead from time to time.  The only bird action I saw today where isolated clusters of birds that seemed to be gathering around a seal that was thrashing something on the surface.  But many birds were sitting around in the water around the seal rather than hoovering overhead spotting squid.

Wonder if the patch of rough, colder weather dispersed the squid.

Hope Notuna and others have better luck tomorrow.

will come back this Friday just for me :smt005. J/K I hope the weather will be

It was a beautiful morning, but no WSB except seen or heard of except for the one pictured above.  It may all be winding down for now.  Hopefully, they'll be back.

Hooking that thresher was my big thrill for the day.  It went airborne 4 times and tailed the across the surface at lightning speeds.  I took at least 20 minutes to land -- long enough for Sharky to paddle across from the other side to take some pics before I released it.  I'm sure he'll post the pic when he gets a chance.

cudas? weird...

Cudas, were the fish to get today.  I got one 38" and Alex got 2 or 3.  Marmite got one.  There was one kayaker who I don't know was going to give me his but it got away before he got it in his kayak.  I'm going to make fish soup sinigang out of mine.  It will be like tanuige in PI.

It was nice to fish with you guys today Marmite! I had a great time in spite of the slow fishing. Bummed to hear you guys didn't get any WSB after we left. I had a couple of rockfish bycatch and an awesome slayride from a small sealion! Not an easy release boatside! :smt044

Tsuri and I stopped on the way home and checked out the scene at Moss Landing. There was a bunch of birds and seals going apeshit on some bait just outside the breakers. Not sure what they were eating but maybe the WSB have moved up the line a little to follow the bait?

Hope somebody nails them tomorrow!

Slow day but still the happy bunch. A few more pictures from Lapulapu's support boat. Next time you go out, take Lapulapu with you guys, that is if he's not on his AI. He does quick boat ride to get squid for the yakers and beer too if you want. Sweet deal.
