37lb buck at Dux buoy, this is why I like the place

I'm trollling away from the buoy 1/4 mile or so and a guy comes out on his deck to tell me the radio chatter is that a big shark is lunching on a sea lion at the buoy

So I turn around and head back thinking maybe I'll get a snap of it and 10 mins later I'm hooked up with this nice Dux buck at the buoy  Weather was going snotty so I headed in with what I had.

All of the boats I talked to had at least near limits  I'll post pix if I can find the camera to computer cable.

No guts, no glory.

No one on this board deserved a fish that big as you.  Proof that if you put your time in, day in day out, and you will get rewarded.

BTW, that area scares the crap out of me.  Not because of sharks, but because it can get nasty FAST.  The few times we went by boat, I HATED go under the GG.  Tide Weather=Dirty shorts.

Congrats.  Lets see the pict!!!!

nah - I wouldn't feel bad.....Blue kayak deserves a big fish - he's put on some serious miles on his kayak. Besides, I rather have my record broken by a salmon caught off the ocean than one caught in the river. (no offense to river fishermen)

Way to go.   :smt026 That fish may have saved your life. I don't think watching a great white munch on a seal at close range is a good Idea, would have made for some great pics though :smt002

Great Job on the Salmon.  I'm heading out tomorrow in a PB to see about a Trophy Salmon.  That paddle must take you at least 2 hours to hit the Buoy?  and please tell me you have GPS because the fog has been thick out there?

Congrats

Way to go man, that is sweeeeet.

Joel is safe, bluekayak is not entered. I think that makes every pool except RF/Cab that has the biggest fish caught NOT by someone in the pool.

I don't know, Bill. This baby could've given you a run for your money. Literally!

Just think - half of the pools would've been won by us Bodega Bay Boys. 2/3 if Erik happens to take the sturgeon pool.
