I read this whole thread. Very interesting.

Theres actually a lot of good things being said here. My question after reading all this, does NCKA update its members with the dates MLPA discussions will be held?

I could have searched but wanted to ask anyways.

This is a fight that all Anglers must take up. Passive and aggressive. We must do so as smartly and sometimes shady as the opposition.

Anything the site can do to organize it's members and attend these MLPA discussions is huge.

Keep discussing. It's when we go quiet that I believe the fight will be over.

I just found the area. Thanks!

Question though.

After reading a couple threads in the politics forum it looks like you need to be a shareholder or on some sort of committee to be heard.

What can the Angler that is concerned about this but is not a shareholder do to help in the fight?

DaveW is representing NCKA on the Regional Stakeholder Group.  You can share your concerns with him.  Or you can attend the meetings and make a statement at the public comment time.  We (DaveW and myself) are at an RSG meeting right now.  Also we'll post up whenever we need action or more information.

Might be of help if the meetings were posted on the Calender.
I know I have been preaching alot about the calender lately but it would be nice if you could go to the calender and plan your month ahead of time.
Just my 2 cents.

For MLPA meetings, I would suggest monitoring http://www.dfg.ca.gov/mlpa/meetings_n.asp

Meeting dates tend to change, especially the ones more than a couple months out.  I can see the 2 calendars getting out of sync and NCKA's being stale.

Thanks for the info!

I need to do my part and make an appearance during the public statements.

Might also be nice to have as many NCKA'rs as possible show up to one of these things as a show of support. An eye candy show of support for the people utilizing their time fighting for our right to fish.

For whatever it's worth I've fired off my first email.

I think I'll start every Monday by doing this.  :smt003

Come, observe meeting monkeys in their native habitat!  They have meetings about having meetings.

Him: "I will call DFG if you don't move."
Me: "Cows are outstanding in their own field."

Now THAT truly made me laugh out loud! Thanks for the laugh Merv!

to add a bit more levity... i had sudden recollections of the song by dana lyons, "cows with guns".
