I'll be focusing in very keenly on the ocean salmon fishing opportunities to begin this Saturday.  Saturday's looking pretty rough with potential 10'+ swells.  I might hit first light Saturday between the Humboldt Jetties, or I might save it all for Sunday and afterward.  More later...

Here's Stormsurf's current view of Saturday and Sunday.

Think you can fish the opener between the jetties without getting run over?  If I can't get a ride I'll probably give it a try out of my yak at least a couple days but I've never fished out of it before so we'll see.  Good luck,

Dave

Good luck, Abking, Better yet screw luck I know you'll be banking on skill. I was launching from Monterey last Saturday and there was a girl counting fish. A PB owner came in solo who had CP&Red a 30 lb. chinook that hit a swimbait a couple fathoms under his boat. I saw the pic, beautiful fish. That's a long way off from your stomping grounds but maybe it will spread some encouragement :smt001

Thats a pretty tough forecast for a lot of anxious fishermen.  Hope the Coast Guard isn't busy.

I have a positive feeling about this nasty wind for the opener - hopefully it'll bring some cold water nearshore and the bait and the kings will be close to the beach.   :smt007
