I will be keeping all the residents and FireFighters in my thoughts and prayers...

I used to work for the Forest Service down in Idyllwild and have the utmost respect and appreciation for Wildland FireFighters...before I left and switched agencies we lost 5 men to the arson created Esperanza Fire...

I didn't see this message until I had already posted in the events section. I've deleted my other post.

If you're planning on attending the Davenport Tournament this weekend, you should probably follow the news for the Lockheed Fire. Areas in the community of Davenport are currently evacuated due to the fire. Additionally, I'm sure the roads are choked with fire equipment. Maybe they will catch the fire in the next day or so, but they might not. The fire is burning in coastal chaparral and dense brush. These fires can be tough to fight and have the potential to spread quickly. The best source of information right now is at http://fire.ca.gov
I also work in statewide fire information for the Forest Service, so if I hear anything I'll be sure to let you folks know. Here's the current stats as of this morning:

My car was covered in ash this morning...and I'm all the way south near Monterey.
On the news last night, they said people were being evacuated to a school in Davenport. Maybe the people w/out campsites for Sat night can just show up and crash there with the evacuees.?

Yeah, that was kinda tongue-in-cheek. My apologies if it was in bad taste.

Geez, nothing like waking up to a Cal-Fire evac warning at 6am.
We just now got the mandatory evac notice. Got most stuff packed up, & will head out. It's a bad one folks.

Hope all goes well with your property!  I'm in Felton, and know that if the winds change direction and increase, Felton could be in trouble.
