Worried about Steve

A lot of you guys have met my dog Steve so I wanted to share that I just learned over the weekend that he has a potentially aggressive tumor. I've got an appointment tomorrow morning where they will remove the tumor and do an analysis to see if that is the end of the story, or if we need to think about more aggressive treatments.

Steve is 11 years old and has been a handful all his life. He has a lot of "personality" which has made him a pain in the butt and a really cool dog all at the same time.

I've kept busy all weekend long, but now that I'm hanging out at home with Steve I'm starting to worry a bit. I'm hoping that he comes through the surgery fine and that the lab results tell us that he's fine.

Ol' Steve is what I call "Disney Dog". One that you saw in a Disney movie; not going to win any beauty prizes; but will yank your heart right out.

me and jack are hoping for the best for the steve dog, pets become such a huge part of our lives and the though of losing one is so though, that's why i cant look on the pet page of craigslist any more cause there are to many and i would adopt them all if i could. you can do it steve 

we have a dog with 'personality' as well. Dog's like that seem to have too much to prove in life to check out early. Steve will pull through!

Hang in there!!!  My dog/family member is 11 1/2 and she (ZOE) has had displasia for over half of her life so I know a bit of what your going through.  

I'm hoping it's just a benign cyst which is very common with aging dogs.

Jay... regardless, I know how you must feel.

Good Luck with him.  I've got a 10 year old terrier that goes everywhere with me.  They become part of you.
