If the weather is good I'm in for a day or two over the long weekend. Friday would be ideal.

Friday would work for me too!

Never fished the Bean, don't have a set of rolleez, but if I can get a helping hand, I'm there. Yes, I have a strong back and a weak mind, so I can help haul yaks or gear!! :smt003

Not to discourage anyone...but watch the surf break. More than a few experienced savages have been humbled there.

Darius,

Of course I will help haul, :smt006

Sean,

Is there a particular area to park?

And what time are we planning to hit it?

If the bean is doable you won't need wheels, a second hand will get you down the short trail. I always carry my wheels in case I go to plan B. You can see the beach from the coast highway clearly and there will be ncka stickers on tranport vehicles. This spot is just south of pescadero, which is about an hour south of san fran sicko. We will be fishing during a full moon cycle but what the heck it is time on the water. I will be launching sixish, you will see the kayaks on the water. If for some reason we still have nw swell, there are other launch sites in the area. Strong backs and weak minds always welcome.

So far I'm in.
I'll plan to get there around 6:30am or so. The wind will probably come up late morning.
Sometimes the park lot is open, but usually folks park along hwy 1 north of the park. There's a steepish path to down to the launch point.

BrianG is totally correct. Bean is not for folks who are not familiar with paddling in changeable ocean conditions, particularly beach launches & landings. The landings can be ....interesting at Bean. You'll be timing sets, paddling in accordingly, then maneuvering to dodge the unsupervised kids who will be running straight for you, directly into the path of your incoming kayak.
Of course, all this is after you've seen that fin...... :shark

I'm in barring any big winds. The swell forecast looks great, but the wind may be something to contend with. My last time or two there I just parked on the road, schlepped my boat down the trail on my head, then carried my gear down to the beach and rigged up there. See you there!  :smt006
