Hey guys! Any of you got weekdays off to fish? I work every weekend, Thursday to Sunday and take off Monday through Wednesday. I am new at kayak fishing, but have lots of fishing experience otherwise. I live in Crockett so can reach all parts of the Bay Area easily. Basically I'm interested in it all, so email me or give me a call.

Hi Jeff,

Welcome aboard!  I live in Benicia.  and usually fish on weekends but I fish on weekday a couple times in a month.  Just post on the hook-ups thread when you plan to go fishing and I'll join you if I can.

Bait,
Love to go get some 'buts. I tried yesterday, at Paradise. Got there just in time. . .for the damn wind to start blowing. paddled for a couple of hours in that shit. The fish won that one.
Next Wedneday? Tell me where you want to go, and what time. i'm there.

I don't mind fishing in he evening providing the wind is not blowing hard. Typical summer weather is calm in early morning and windy in the afternoon.

Cameron,
I'd like to try ft Ross. Long as the swells and wind are doable. I'm closer to Paradise/China Camp, etc. And, of course Crockett/Vallejo.
You ever fish the Russian from your kayak? Smallies up river.  Stripers down in the lower end. They come in after the shad. Like right now. I've hook a few fishing for shad at Johnsons and Monte Rio. Big boys too. Moscow Hole gets loaded up with fish also, all kinds.

Weekdays are always good for me and I prefer them.  Post in Hookups when/where you want to go.

Anyone still fishing on weekdays? I live in Emeryville and am looking to try Paradise, San Pablo Bay, Alameda, or anywhere the fish may be biting. I am new to kayak fishing so if any of you are willing to help a newbie as far as launch spots and possibly fishing techniques, it is much appreciated... i have gone a out a few times so far, but no fish yet. Thanks!

Roger, just watch this Hookup site. You'll find many opportunities. I spent a year and half going solo, knowing that there must be others out there. Last year, quite soon after discovering the NCKA website. Fishing-Jay posted that he and Jedmo were launching here in Vallejo. I just showed up and introduced myself, that's when Yaking really became fun. There is nothing but nice people with the same interest as you, doing this. You already know how to reply to a post so just say you'd like to join. We all wear a PFD and most have marine band radio/telephone tuned to channel 69. This is so if we need help you'll come to assist, or visa versa. Look forward to meeting you at a launch site soon. dave...

Im going to have either Friday or Mondays off for the next couple of months. Im busy next weekend but would love to hook up with you after that! I usually hit Stillwater Cove in Carmel, its just about the best place Ive fished at so far, and the launch is really easy, usually no surf to deal with, just some stairs to lug the yaks up and down.

thanks for the replies... I look forward to meeting and fishing with all of you! Stillwater cove sounds great, I'm in the south bay for work, so I wouldn't mind heading that way. let me know when you're going to be free and let's make it happen!

Roger, I'm another newbie but had gone out twice with fair catches at Lover's Point in Monterey. Would like to try Carmel Stillwater Cove with you guys.

Kim, just whereabouts is the launch site for the Stillwater Cove? Been to Carmel at Ocean heading straight down to the beach.

Looking forward to fishing with you guys.

Danny
Going Fishing?
Winds from the south, hook in
    the mouth.
Wind from the east, bite the least.
Wind from the north, further off.
Wind from the west, bite the
    best.
