I have seen a pair of lip gripper that are plastic and an orange color several times in other posts. I have looked for this style locally and have found nothing where can I buy this style???
If I remember correctly they are plastic and float and are around $ 10.00 or 12.00. Any help would be appreciated.

I got those grippers. They are super. There  are some fish they don't work as well on, like salmon, which have thick mouth and not a lot of lip.  You can't beat them on bass and rock fish, though.

I got two pairs and sold one to my fishing bud.

their true calling is dealing with underlings.

I wonder if the rivets will rust tho. metal.

but as somebody said, for $10 how can you go too wrong?

I have used the heck out of these and mine are still going strong.  The only fish they don't work well on is big cabbies, they won't grip over the big broad teeth...not at ALL.  Big lings can also gator-roll out, but I use the gaff on those anyways.

sean, do you know how those lings use the gator roll in 'real' life?

Do they use it fighting each other for the best spots?

I haven't had that happen to me yet, it must be somewhat unnerving.

but I'm ready, I watched a lot of 'the crocodile hunter',  :smt003.

I lost a legal ling on my Monterey trip with Allen B with the orange gripper.....the ling DID just as what Sean said = a gator roll.  :smt011
IMO: The trick is to find a way to keep the ling secured without doing any damage to it's body while you are trying to measure it. I now plan to use my net first and measure it with my paddle (my paddle has a ruler sticker on it) and if I know it's a keeper =I use the club. :smt075 The gripper, I only use for the underlings, the smaller rockfish and short strippers...if it's obviously a keeper ling = I use my net every time.

just my 2 cents.....

Hey, I was only going to charge you $15 to print one out.

Would be cool, though.  I'll start the patenting process...
