I sold my P13 on Saturday (to a friend or it would've been listed here first) for $450. Going to replace that w/a new Trident 13.
Then I'm going to sell my Tarpon 140 and replace it w/either 2009 Tarpon or a Malibu X-Factor (still haven't decided). But I will list my T140 on here before going to CL (probably in the $600-650 range) within the next couple weeks. So if you're still looking for a yak at that time Darius, you got first-dibs.

Darious,

I don't know if you remember the yak my son was paddling when we went out with Allen, but we have a red version of that same kayak (my wife's) she's been off and on about selling it ($500), but if you're interested I'll see what she wants to do. It's a perception Caster, 12.5 ft long, 32" wide, very stable, not quite as fast as my Tarpon 160, but faster than most with it's dimensions I think. Seat, Scotty rod holder, and two flush mount rod holders, very little use -- no rudder. You may also try it here if you like.

I think it's got two flush mounts behind the seat actually

http://www.oceankayak.com/kayaks/angler_editions/scrambler_xt_angler.html

As far as longer making you feel safer, watch out for the narrow/long boats.  My Perception 15 (and I'm assuming the longer Tarpons) isn't the most stable thing in the water, but I knew that going in.  Length doesn't always equate to stability.

The used market in the Bay area seemed tough to me when I was looking.  Seems like most of the used stuff for sale here (yak or otherwise) goes for quite a bit more than areas just north/south of us.  I guess the typical Bay area markup.  There was a place in Socal (can't recall the name, will have to find it in my old emails) that had some Cobra blems, the FnD and the Navigator, for each around $600.  Check the kayak finder in the stickies at the top of the forum.

Good luck!  I finally just cut back in other areas to buy a new yak so I could get on the water.  Figured with a minor cutback in spending on other shit, plus the time I was spending perusing CL and other sites, plus potential drive time, was worth just buying and getting on the water.

Oh yeah, may be worth checking your local West Marine and trying to make a deal.  My girl got a 'blem' OK Trident 15 Angler for $500 there because it had been on their outside rack in the sun and warped.  It unwarped on the drive home  :smt044

I remember you mentioning that deal you had from westmarine:smt005, I am looking at three Prowler 13, Tarpon 160 and cobra FnD, I might lean towards the FND and debating between tarpon 160, I havent seen the prowler 13, let see whats gonna happen :smt003
