Dude, you know I'm there for you man. I love getting dirty. BTW, on the
same day we got back from our last clamming trip, I found something
that would really help us scoop the sand and water fast. You'll just have
to wait to see it until then. :smt005

No way! You'll have to wait till then. Just kidding. :smt002 I bought it at a pet
store here in Vallejo. They actually ran out and I beg them to sell me what they
were using. They gave it to me for 4 dollars. :smt003

Nice...now all you need is a PVC tube  :smt003  I found a place to buy a 18" dia. PVC for about $20 a foot.  If we can get 6 people to pitch-in then we can buy a 20' pipe and cut it ourselves to save the cutting fee of $15 a cut.  So far I got you and Allen so we need 3 more people.  The cost will be around $60 each tax included.

Hey Sonny, I'm sure someone will read this soon and they are going to want a
piece as well.

Yeah!  $60 is a small price to pay for all the fun in the mud and it should last forever  :smt003

couldn't you cut both ends off a 30gal plastic drum they are just over 18" wide and only cost about $10 at a salvage yard?
Or do they have to be really stiff to drive into the sand?

I'm thinking stiff is better. I've been looking for something that I can use but haven't had any luck... yet.

Hello Mike,
The problem with those plastic drums last time we were out. It seemed sturdy
enough but, once you have them deep, the sides begins to cave in. So you do
need something really sturdy. It is kind of expensive but, like Sonny said it is a
life time unless it falls off the kayak and you don't feel like diving for them. :smt044 I think it's worth it though.

I have a friend who owns a huge irrigation supply I'll check and see what he has and what kind of price he can give.

Great.  If you can get them for a better price, we'll all pitch-in for them.

Hey Andy, when you have a moment. Would you please take a picture of the
tube you have and perhaps give a diameter of it as well? Thank you so very much.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the info.  Could you tell me the diameter of the tube you bought there?  The tube we're looking for is 18" large.
